Formula 1 Bell helmets of the 2019 season.

The 2019 Formula 1 season was the 70th Formula 1 season. The "Formula 1", officially the "FIA Formula One World Championship", is the highest class in motorsport as determined by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile. The season started on March 17, 2019, traditionally in Australia, the last race of the season was held on December 1 in Abu Dhabi.

Mercedes secured the constructors' title during the Japanese Grand Prix. Lewis Hamilton became the driver's world champion for the sixth time during the United States Grand Prix.

Technical changes
In 2019, the front and rear wings will be reformed to reduce aerodynamic turbulence. This will ensure that more can be overtaken, but also that the cars will be a bit slower than the previous season.

Sporting changes
In 2019, for the first time since 1959, a point will be given to the driver who sets the fastest lap, provided he finishes in the top 10.

Ties
Pirelli is, as in 2018, the only tire supplier in the 2019 season.

This season, the drivers will drive three tire types per Grand Prix; hard, medium and soft, which will be colored white, yellow and red respectively. Unlike previous seasons, where each compound had its own name, such as 'supersoft', the 3 chosen compounds are named after how hard they are. The hardest compound in the GP is presented as 'hard', the softest as 'soft'. This is done to make the band strategies more understandable to viewers.
