Formula 1 Bell helmets of the 2021 season.

The 2021 Formula 1 season will be the 72nd Formula 1 season. The "Formula 1", officially the "FIA Formula One World Championship", is the highest class in motorsport as determined by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile.

Technical regulations
Teams will be limited in which components can be changed for the 2021 season, this requirement being introduced to reduce the financial pressure on teams due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, some changes will be imposed by the FIA, including modifications to the car's underfloor. (the sub-floor is designed to reduce downward pressure). Teams can also apply for a special waiver to make changes, especially in the case of McLaren who have been granted permission to adapt their car to convert from Renault to Mercedes engines. This prompted the FIA to introduce a "token system" where teams receive a range of tokens that can be redeemed for the introduction of specific component upgrades.

The "dual-axle steering system" developed by Mercedes in 2020 will be banned from 2021. The two-axle steering system allows the driver to adjust the toe-in of the front wheels while driving - by pulling or pushing the handlebars - to optimize mechanical grip for different track conditions.
